Dr David Harold Bailey is a mathematician and computer scientist. He is the author and co-author of several books and numerous scientific papers on experimental mathematics. In 1993, he received the Sidney Fernbach Award from the IEEE Computer Society for his contributions to numerical computer science, including innovative algorithms for FFTs, matrix multiplication, and multiple precision arithmetic on vector computer architecture. He worked for 14 years as a computer scientist at NASA Ames Research Center and then as a senior scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 1998 to 2013.
