Prof. Dr. Thomas Mayer is founding director of the Flossbach von Storch Research Institute. Most recently, Prof. Mayer was Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank Group and Head of Deutsche Bank Research. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers, the International Monetary Fund and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Prof. Mayer has been a CFA Charterholder since 2003, an honorary professor at Witten-Herdecke University since 2015, a member of the Ludwig Erhard Foundation, and jury chairman of the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Economic Journalism.
