Over one billion people worldwide live-in extreme poverty. One consequence of poverty is hunger. World Hunger Aid reported about 690 million people went hungry in 2019. That is one in 11 people. Those who are poor have too little money for food, cannot take care of their health or invest in education. Women are often particularly disadvantaged.

Intalcon and CARE Germany signed cooperation agreement

Together with CARE Germany, Intalcon Foundation is committed to fighting poverty and hunger and creating equal rights for men and women. In this way, we jointly promote the Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2 and 5.

CARE was founded in the USA in 1945 and helped millions of people in post-war Europe with the well-known CARE parcels. The packages were ambassadors of reconciliation and direct help from person to person. This tradition lives on today. The CARE-parcel illustrates the willingness to give of wealth, to share and to alleviate immediate need. The goal is global poverty reduction and an international order in which all people can live in dignity, security, peace, and freedom.

In around 100 countries, CARE works to overcome poverty and help those affected by disasters to survive. Equality between men and women and the special promotion of women and girls where they are systematically disadvantaged are particularly important.

"In CARE Germany, we have an experienced and respected partner to help us effectively support the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations."
Scarlett Eckert, Managing Director Intalcon Foundation

Today, CARE is one of the world's largest aid organisations, has consultative status with the United Nations and helps people regardless of their political views, religious beliefs, or ethnic origin.

CARE Germany has received several awards for its special transparency and impact, including the "Wirkt" seal from Phineo and the transparency award from PWC.

Due to the current pandemic, we are sponsoring a Corona emergency aid project to launch our cooperation.
