Alan Dunne

Alan is the CEO of Archive Capital in Dublin, Ireland. He has over 25 years of experience in financial markets across hedge funds, investment banks, and wealth management. His background spans global macro, managed futures, asset allocation, and manager selection - having served as a CIO, hedge fund allocators and macro strategist. Before founding Archive Capital, Alan was Managing Director and Investment Committee member at Abbey Capital, a leading managed futures investment firm. He previously held senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, where he led the investment team in Ireland, and at Allied Irish Capital Management, a macro-focused CTA. Earlier in his career, he worked as a foreign exchange analyst and trader with Bank of America and BNP Paribas in London, Hong Kong, Singapore. Alan also cohosts Top Traders Unplugged, one of the most widely followed podcasts in the hedge fund industry and writes the investment newsletter Beyond the Cycle on Substack, exploring market regimes and alternative investment strategies. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MSc in Investment Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a BA (Mod) in Economics from Trinity College Dublin.
